Every hat bar question, answered straight
Planners ask us the same smart questions every week. Rather than make you dig, here they are with real answers — numbers included.
What is a live trucker hat bar?
The full anatomy: hat wall, patch board, press crew, and why "live" is the word doing all the work.
How much does a trucker hat bar cost?
The real anchors — starting points, staffing rates, travel fees — and the four levers that move the total.
How many hats do I need?
The ordering formula we use, why 100% coverage is usually wrong, and what happens to leftovers.
Quick hits
How long does each hat take? About sixty seconds of press time, two to three minutes end to end with picking and cool-down. One operator handles forty to sixty hats an hour.
Do you work indoors and outdoors? Both. Outdoors we need cover from direct sun and rain for the presses; otherwise rooftops, lawns, barns, and ballrooms are all fair game.
What about power? One standard 20-amp circuit per press. No generators screaming behind your string quartet — if the venue is power-limited, tell us early and we will plan around it.
Can kids use the bar? Yes, with youth-size caps on the wall and operators handling every press. The patch picking is honestly where kids outshine the adults.
Something we did not cover? Call (562) 614-4800 — a human who has actually run these stations picks up.
